Our September Box is LIVE! Here’s a peek at what you get. (p.s. this is my FAVORITE box yet!)
Your kids are going to love it and not even realize they’re learning STEM subjects. Remember, the September Winkle Crate comes with everything you need and see here for your child to complete all four projects.
A pulley is simply a collection of one or more wheels over which you loop a rope to make it easier to lift things. Pulleys are examples of what scientists call simple machines. That doesn’t mean they’re not packed with engines and gears; it just means they help us multiply forces. A pulley system makes it easier to lift an object than lifting the dead weight by hand. The pulley allows an object to be lifted with less force. Our elevator makes a pulley by looping the string over the stick. The machine works as we twist the handle making the stick turn.
Hot Air Balloon Painting
Your child will love putting their own propeller car together! They’ll see how the air blowing the propeller makes the car move. It’s like magic, but SCIENCE.
A pivot point is the center point of any rotational system.
A pivot point is a central point on which something balances or turns. It is the most important thing in a system which other things depend on or are based on.
The golf tees add weight to the bottom of Jump Rope Joe. With a little help from gravity and the pivot point, Joe will right itself and jump with his feet down.
