Hello fall! Raise your hand if you’re ready for orange leaves, pumpkin carving, and four amazing STEM projects! The October Winkle Crate is finally here, and your kids are going to love learning with these fun, hands-on projects.
Every Winkle Crate comes with everything you need to complete four DIY-style, kid-friendly STEM projects. No need to run to the dollar store to buy popsicle sticks and pom-poms! Not only that, but each Winkle project has online video instructions that walk your child through each step and explain the STEM principles behind the project. Your child will be able to independently complete these projects (younger kids might need a little help), which is great for their learning and confidence, and great for your sanity. Sound too good to be true? I feel you, but there are no tricks here, only treats! Here’s a sneak peek of the projects you’ll receive in the October Winkle Crate.
Robotic Hand (Science, Anatomy)
Learn how joints and tendons work together in your hands! Kids will create their own robotic hand that actually moves! Pull on the color-coordinating strings to move the different fingers. Afterwards, use those phalanges to grab some Halloween candy!
Slime (Science, Chemistry)
Ooey, gooey, and fun! Your kiddo will learn all about chemical reactions and chemistry. The Winkle slime recipe combined with the instructional video is foolproof. Kids can monster mash that slime for a great hands-on, tactile learning experience.
Pumpkin Chunkin Catapult (Engineering)
Ready, set, LAUNCH! This super fun engineering project covers simple machines, tension, and gravity. Your kids will have a blast creating their own pumpkin catapult. Watch those pumpkins fly!
Skeletons (Science, Anatomy)
Everything your child needs to create these skeleton bodies is included in The Winkle Crate. In the instructional video, we’ll talk all about the proportions of the body and different bones, like the tibula, fibula, and femur! This skeleton project is PERFECT for Halloween!
